The Anderson Construction and Remodeling story began with Gene Anderson. After a permanent layoff from Dravo Corporation in the late 70’s, Gene Anderson, a Coraopolis or Moon Township native, decided to go into business for himself in 1982, contracting roofing, siding, windows and doors. He leaned on his remodeling experience before joining Dravo Corporation for starting his business.
After over a decade of hard work, determination and a lot of help from a dedicated team of employees, the company found success. In 1994, after working for his dad from the beginning and completing trade school, Gene’s son, Shad, became an equal partner. He expanded the company to include contracting carpentry projects such as kitchens, bathrooms and finished basements.
After a 10-year partnership, the company flourished. Gene decided to retire in 2004, selling his interest of the company in 2005 to Ron Gailey. He was introduced to the company through his position of Store Manager at Modern Builders Supply, the company’s largest supplier of building materials. After the success of a new partnership, Ron Gailey and Shad Anderson relocated the company office to its current location at 944 Fourth Avenue, Coraopolis, PA, where they are still serving the area.
